We will be undertaking a 4-day jungle trek. The plan is to climb Mount Afadjato - the highest peak in Ghana - and traverse the ridge that forms the border with Togo.
We will be walking away from established tracks, forging new ones throught the forest. We are applying for the trek to be used as an "Other Adventurous Project" so that British cadets can use it for the expedition section of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Ghanaian cadets can use it for their Head of State Award.
We will be using hammocks to sleep in the secondary rainforest in a system that is being design for us by Kaboa. They are also providing jungle training for the expedition. The image on the right shows the type of system that we are using and will be taught to the expedition members on a weekend hosted by Kaboa before we set off to Ghana.
