I have been a member of 2473 (Southgate School) Squadron for seven years, ending cadet life as a Cadet Warrant Officer and moving on to many more challenges as adult staff in May of 2006. Having reached the grand old age of 20 I am now the adult SNCO in charge of discipline at the squadron, whilst also looking after the adventure training. Outside of the corps I am working towards an aerospace engineering degree at Brunel University, West London where I am currently in my second year of study.
I take part in various outdoor activities in diverse places around the country including hill walking, climbing, caving, mountain biking and have also been fortunate enough to go skydiving. I have been to the Nijmegen 4-day Marches twice and I took a team to the Belgian 100K Death March in August 2006. In addition, I have led UK expeditions in the Lake District and Snowdonia. Having advanced my Basic Expedition Leaders Award by attending the Mountain Leader training course I hope to pass the assessment within the next year.
I am extremely lucky to have been a cadet member of the well-known Expedition Volcano Eagle, to Ecuador in 2003 and also Expedition Steppes Eagle, Mongolia 2005. Now as an experienced ’Eagler’ I aim to help today’s cadets get an amazing experience in Ghana. For the expedition I am a member of the A Flight staff team under the leadership of Flt Lt Wujangi and I am also responsible for the expedition fundraising efforts.
Expedition Jubilee Eagle, to Ghana, is yet another amazing opportunity that I am privileged to be involved with. I especially look forward to traveling to the remote areas of the country and meeting the local people of this incredible country. This expedition will be an extraordinary event, with many challenges ahead of us.
I am proud to be helping Ghana celebrate!
