I joined the Air Training Corps in April 2003, aged 14, at my local squadron, the famous 2473 (Southgate) Squadron. I have taken part in a number of activities, including flying, shooting, Air Cadet Leadership Course (in which I passed with a distinction and as best cadet), as well as four adventure training camps, a number of Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, and most notably Expedition Steppes Eagle to Mongolia in August and September 2005. I am also currently undertaking a gliding scholarship at 613 VGS Halton every Sunday. Outside of cadets I am in full time education, taking my A2 exams in the summer of 2007, and work in an army surplus store on Saturdays.
My prime experience, which can relate to this expedition, is the expedition to Mongolia in 2005, which I thoroughly enjoyed and believe made me a better person as a whole. Adventure training is one of my favourite activities in the ATC, and I relish all greens camps and similar activities. I enjoy travelling and experiencing foreign cultures, which is why I am looking forward to Jubilee Eagle.
