I have been a serving member of 1159 (Edmonton) Squadron for about seven years, joining when I was 13. I achieved my current rank of Cadet Warrant Officer just after my 18th birthday. As a senior NCO I have fulfilled many roles including flight commander, recruit flight commander, general dogsbody and many more. My current roles at 1159 are Squadron Training Officer and Director of the Guard. Along with the expedition to Mongolia in 2005 I have also been on many camps all over the country and have also attended a gliding scholarship at RAFC Cranwell, achieved my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards and hope to complete my Gold in Ghana.
I believe that the Air Cadets is a fantastic organisation that can offer cadets and also staff some great experiences and can open up new avenues for all parties involved. Expedition Jubilee Eagle is another one of these opportunities and personally I can’t wait.
