I joined 1374 (East Barnet) Squadron at 13, and was soon involved in challenging activities, camps and making good friendships. Since joining I have been fortunate enough to attend a range of camps from adventure training, to the brilliant overseas camp in Germany 2006! Last summer I was part of the RIAT communications team and was amazed by the magnitude of the event, the aircraft and the performance of the Red Arrows and now hope one day to undertake a gliding scholarship.
I have represented Middlesex Wing in athletics, 5-a-side football and netball. Participating in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme has been great fun and I am now working for my silver.
As a Year 12 student in full time education at Mill Hill County High, I enjoy sport and play for the school netball team, often winning but always having fun! I play in my school bands and London Borough of Barnet Wind Orchestra having toured with them in Monte Carlo, France and Italy.
I am really excited about going to Ghana as it will be an experience of a life time! I haven’t been to Africa before so it’s going to be a great adventure! Having seen the videos and heard accounts from members of 1374 who attended Ecuador and Mongolia, I am very proud to be a part of such an expedition. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, refurbishing the local school and seeing the jungle wildlife (but not getting too close)!!!
