I have been a member at 86 (Heston & Isleworth) Squadron since 2000. I reached the rank of Flight Sergeant before turning 20 in December 2006 and having to leave after reaching the upper age limit. In the time I was a cadet I completed my Gliding Scholarship, obtained Wing Blues in Athletics and both 5- and 11-a-side Football, and achieved a Corps Marksmanship Badge. I was also the senior trumpeter for the squadron band. At the squadron I am in charge of sports, which entails motivating the cadets in sports, organising teams and organising sports practices.

For several years I have joined 86 Sqn in venturing to Capel Curig in Wales, where I have taken part in hill-walking, mountain biking and dry-slope skiing. I was also part of Expedition Steppes Eagle to Mongolia, where I won the award for best cadet. One of the highlights of the expedition for me was seeing the smiles on the children’s faces when we handed over their refurbished school to them.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising and playing a variety of sports. In Winter I enjoy skiing and I am a qualified ski instructor.

I am looking forward to seeing Ghana and experiencing the different culture and lifestyle they enjoy there.
